Part-time Position: Assistant Store Manager, Hope Chest Resale Store – Elgin

General Responsibility Description:

Are you a people person and thrift store enthusiast?

Wayside Cross Ministries, a Bible-based, Christ-centered, non-profit organization for the broken and hurting, is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to work at our resale stores’ Elgin location.

You must possess strong hands, and a big heart for serving others!

This person will be responsible for the oversight and day-to-day operations of the store, making sure things run smoothly as well as optimizing profits. The retail manager will direct and implement pricing, sorting, and restocking of merchandise, layout of floor merchandising plan, training, hiring, scheduling, and ordering.

Must have strong computer skills and ability to run a cash register. Must have an eye for fashion and merchandising. The assistant retail manager must have strong people and communication skills as well as the proclivity to motivate others to perform to the best of their ability, as well as engage and direct volunteers as well as the ability to interact with local residents seeking services and assistance from the Wayside Center.
